FLAUS wanted to make more content from the product assets it owned
FLAUS had invested in 3D assets for its electric flosser, including the product, a mirror mount and five brand environments. The team wanted to change the lighting and camera angles, then keep producing imagery as new marketing needs came up.
Getting even basic revisions made was difficult. Co-founder Elli Hanson described changes to the existing world renders as “pulling teeth.” She knew talented 3D artists, but the work she wanted often exceeded the company's budget.
With its flosser and mirror mount loaded into Glossi, FLAUS could build on those product assets. The team developed imagery and animation with Glossi, then used the finished work in its own design tools.
Elli turned existing imagery into creative for 14 billboard placements
An investor offered FLAUS digital billboard space across Manhattan, including Times Square. The opportunity covered 14 placements, and the artwork was needed quickly.
Elli already had product imagery to work with. She built still creative in Illustrator and edited video and animated slides in Premiere. Different executions explained the product or tested a more playful message, each with its own QR code.
“We used all of our Glossi assets,” she told the team afterward.
Elli delivered the creative to the billboard operator ahead of the planned placements. Because she had the product imagery, she could spend the time on the message and layout instead of arranging another round of production.
FLAUS brought the product details into its online store
The imagery also worked closer to the purchase. FLAUS used renders across its website and product gallery, showing the black flosser, its green packaging and the contents of the starter kit.
The finished views gave shoppers different ways to inspect the product. A diagonal view showed the flosser's shape; a close-up brought the floss head into focus. The kit flatlay showed what came in the box.
For the next release, Elli asked to bring the updated model into Glossi in black and green for website, product-page and social content. The product assets could keep supporting new creative as the business grew.
FLAUS prepared product imagery for a design-award submission
Beyond its website and campaigns, FLAUS needed to present the product’s design for a Red Dot award submission. Samantha requested three high-resolution views in JPEG and TIFF.
The finished set included an upright product view, a close-up of the floss head and a kit layout. FLAUS could present the design in detail as well as use the product imagery in its store and campaigns.
“Those are all 3D renders we have created with the incredible team at Glossi.”
